It's a Boy!

The timing was just right that we were able to discover the gender of our baby two days before I left for Dubai. I have to admit that I was convinced that baby Greenley was a girl. I had always pictured myself being the mother of girls. I was so convinced that I was using she/her when talking about baby Greenley. During the ultrasound it was difficult to get a good shot of his face. He was wiggling all over the place. However, when it came time to get a shot between his legs, he held perfectly still. There was no doubting that he was a boy. The doctor even said that it was one of the clearest shots she had ever seen. Our boy just wanted to make sure that his mom knew he was a boy and not a girl. I have to admit - I was genuinely shocked! Me - the mother of a boy! Ha ha - If I didn't already think that I would have to wing this whole parent thing, I definitely will be winging it now! Sean was very excited for the news. He created the announcement we posted to let everyone know. He is pretty gifted with photoshop ;).

I am so lucky that I get to be be a parent with Sean.
He is so excited and I can tell he really will be amazing.

Despite all of his wiggling, we were able to get this great shot of his little profile. I just love his little nose. I have spent a lot of time just staring at this photo.
I just love him so much and I haven't met him yet!

I have had conversations with people (and have heard of conversations) where people talk about how much they dread and want to avoid pregnancy. It does a number on your body and there are some not-so-pleasant and even gross side effects.  But I am so glad that I get to be a part of this process. It truly is amazing to participate and observe in this part of nature. I am filled with awe at how it only takes nine months to create something as intricate and as complex a human body. That being said, this pregnancy has been relatively easy on me. I have not had much in the way of morning sickness.  I was miraculously able to survive full time work and full time school during my first trimester. I don't know if I will be lucky for future pregnancies, but I was grateful for the extra blessings!
